Privacy Policy

Last updated June 24, 2026

Mooncub helps a grown-up create a personalized, illustrated bedtime story starring their child. It is built for parents and guardians, and it is designed from the ground up to keep children safe: we never ask for a child's photo, we never create an account for a child, and a child's details are used only to write tonight's story — never to contact or profile them. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.

1. Who Mooncub is for

Mooncub is intended only for use by adults aged 18 or older who are the parent or legal guardian of the child a story is created for. The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow children to create accounts, submit information, or use Mooncub on their own. A child enjoys the story alongside their grown-up — they never sign in or hand us their own data.

2. What we collect

We deliberately collect as little as possible. The only personal information we ask the parent for is:

  • The parent's email address. Provided at the email gate to finish and save the story, and to send occasional product updates. This is the one piece of contact information we store.
  • Basic usage & device data. Standard analytics such as pages viewed, approximate region, and device type, collected through our analytics provider (see below).

We do notcollect a child's photos, voice, location, contact details, or any account credentials for a child.

3. Your child's story details

To make your child the hero of the story, the parent enters a few light details: the child's first name, their age, and one favorite thing(an interest such as “dinosaurs” or “the ocean”).

These details are used for a single purpose — generating and illustrating that story. They are not used to build an advertising profile of your child, are never sold, and are never used to contact your child. A first name alone is not used to identify a child in the real world, and we ask you to avoid entering a full name, surname, address, school, or anything else that could identify your child.

4. Analytics & cookies

We use PostHogfor privacy-conscious product analytics — it helps us understand which parts of the bedtime experience work and where parents get stuck, so we can improve the product. PostHog and our hosting set a small number of cookies and similar technologies (for example, to remember a session and to measure how a visit progresses through the story). We do not run third-party advertising trackers inside the storytelling experience, and analytics is never tied to a child's identity.

5. How we use information

We use the limited information above only to:

  • Generate, illustrate, continue, and save the bedtime story.
  • Email the finished story to the parent and keep their keepsake library.
  • Send occasional product updates the parent can opt out of at any time.
  • Understand and improve how the product works, and keep it secure.

6. Who we share with

We do not sell your information or your child's details. We share data only with the service providers that make Mooncub run, and only as needed: Anthropic (to generate the story text), our image-generation provider (to illustrate each scene), Supabase(to securely store the story and the parent's email), Vercel (hosting), and PostHog (analytics). Each processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

7. Retention & your choices

We keep a saved story and the parent's email for as long as the keepsake account is active, so families can re-read the stories they made together. You can ask us to delete your account, your stories, and your email at any time, and we will remove them from our active systems promptly. To make a deletion or access request, email support@draftlabs.org and we will take care of it.

8. Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)

Protecting children is the heart of this policy. Consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR's rules on children's data (GDPR-K), Mooncub does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Only a verified parent or guardian interacts with the service. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without a parent's involvement, please contact us and we will delete it. In Phase 1, there are no child accounts and no child photos — by design.

9. Changes to this policy

As Mooncub grows we may update this policy. When we make a meaningful change we will update the date at the top of this page, and — for material changes that affect how we handle your information — we will let registered parents know by email.
